Executives of the Remote Monitoring Leadership Council met with federal policymakers on April 15-16, 2026 to discuss how Medicare policy can better support remote patient monitoring as part of accountable, technology-enabled care.
During the Capitol Hill fly-in, RMLC engaged lawmakers and staff on the role of remote monitoring plays in support beneficiaries with chronic conditions, enabling earlier intervention, and helping providers manage care outside of traditional clinical settings.
In particular, the Council pushed forward on:
- Regulatory priorities for a more RPM-friendly regulatory landscape for patients and providers. Read the full regulatory priorities here.
- The Rural Patient Monitoring Access Act (S. 1535/H.R. 3108), which would ensure high-quality remote physiologic monitoring services for Medicare beneficiaries. Read more about the bill here.
Discussions focused on the importance of stable Medicare policy for remote monitoring, the need to align payment with outcomes, and the opportunity to support innovation while maintaining appropriate program integrity guardrails.
